Sheridan Garage
The Seridan Garage is a conversion of the 1920’s Sheridan Garage into 34 high-end condominiums with two new wings added. Abandoned for many years, Keener-Squire Properties purchased the property in 2002 with the intent of converting it to a high-end condominium community. The award-winning architectural firm Shalom Baranes Associates designed the exterior plans, which included the addition of a third level to the original structure, and two new buildings, East Place and Courtyard, built on vacant land.
The four penthouse units form the new third-floor addition to the historic structure. As a contrast to the character of the original design, the penthouse level is contemporary, featuring dramatic walls made up almost entirely of glass. Through a combination of commercial-grade Winvent glass and German-engineered channel glass, light pours in from every angle. Atop each unit is a penthouse, which features clear and translucent walls. Generous terrace spaces on the main level and upper level expand the picturesque Georgetown views.
Most of the 34 homes feature outdoor spaces, which complement the landscape set with red bricks and potted plants and trees. Attractive glass Domel doors open onto the terraces.
The quality is in the details. No detail was overlooked in designing the interiors with superior finishes: wide-plank rift oak floors, 10 foot ceilings, stone-faced fireplaces, custom cabinetry, and enormous Quaker windows. Simply put, this type of home in Georgetown is a rare find.
The kitchens feature honed-stone counters, custom rift oak or cherry cabinetry, stainless steel appliances with built-in microwaves, designer light fixtures, and an under-mount Suneli sink. The baths feature honed-limestone counters and surrounds, wall-mounted cabinetry, dual-flush Toto toilets, and brushed nickel fixtures.
The technical details were not overlooked. Each unit features modern systems including individually-controlled HVAC units for cooling and heat year-round, electronic security systems, and wiring for cable and high-speed Internet access. Each room is equipped with two telephone and cable access points. For homeowners who wish to hang a flat-screen television above the fireplace, we will install an extra electrical outlet behind the screen for out-of-sight power cords.
Original prices for the condo units start in the low $400’s and up to $2.5 million for penthouse units.
