January 27, 2009 by jessebkaye
Thats right! Today marks a historic event where Bethesda and Silver Spring will finally be connected. Montgomery County voted unanimously for a light rail from Bethesda to New Carrolton.
The stops include:
- Bethesda
- Chevy Chase Lake
- West Silver Spring
- Woodside
- Silver Spring
- Long Branch
- Takoma/Langley
- Stadium/Arena
- University of Maryland Campus Center
- College Park
- Riverdale
- New Carrolton
The route is going to be 16 miles long and will cost over $1 billion to build. The line is going to run directly along side the Capitol Crescent Trail into Silver Spring and a route the rest of the way to New Carrolton is currently being planned.
